'Michael Turner's Steps to Success' is a resource site that provides alternatives to how we rebuild our health and build wealth. For many of us, uncertainty is the driving force to explore different and maybe NEW products, services and ideas that will help improve our lives.
Mark Twain's quote tells us one thing. The basket we are watching is out of our control. Too many forces are pulling, tugging and stretching the very concepts that we all have heard from the time we were toddlers.
One of the concepts in that basket is if we went to school, got good grades, we could get a good job. With many people out of work, the promise of a good education seems very empty. For those contemplating going back to school to complete or further their education, the high cost is daunting.
Another concept in that basket is once we had a good job, if we were loyal, served that company well, when we retired it would take care of you for many years. That dream is being smashed every day.
The times are changing. Just as it was in the early 1980's when the PC hit the market and changed all of our lives, so it is now. The new ways to provide for our families have come. And with that the need to stay healthy as we age.
Health and wealth are two competing ideas. It seems we sacrifice one for the other or ignore both while a family is being raised. It is the price that is eventually paid if you don't focus on both of these concepts.
As you age, if you have health but no wealth, you will spend your life being bored. The body is willing but the bank account says "NO".
If you have wealth but are challenged with an illness or disease, you will spend your bank account dry trying to either get healthy or stay alive just one more month.
It takes both health and wealth to be able to live our "golden years" the same way we lived our younger years. There is nothing that says you should not be able to.
